In this illustration, Joe Barsin visualizes this tragic but beautiful opera. Violetta Valéry, a famed Parisian courtesan, is slowly dying from tuberculosis but finds strength through her love with Alfredo. At first she plays hard to get with Alfredo but gives him a flower and tells him to return to her when it has wilted. As with all great opera tragedy's, they are madly in love but another man, Baron Douphol, comes between them. Alas, the horrible misunderstanding is resolved just in time for the pale Violetta to die in Alfredo's arms. Opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi.
