Tosca Opera Print and Cards for Sale

Tosca Opera poster illustration by Joe Barsin

Joe Barsin illustrates original artwork to be used exclusively for one-of-a-kind opera merchandise. His blend of traditional and contemporary illustration brings you uniquely colorful design that you won't find anywhere else.

This opera, composed by Giacomo Puccini, is one of the greats. I try to capture the moment when Tosca realizes that her sweetheart, Cavaradossi, had been wrongly executed and she would soon exact revenge through "Tosca's Kiss". This tragic scene takes place on top of Castel Sant' Angelo in Rome. The center piece of this castle is the famous statue of Archangel Michael. I juxtaposed it with Tosca to symbolize the "avenging angel" and how she will soon take flight through her grief.
