USNA Class of 1966 Reunion a big success!

USNA CLASS OF 1966 COMMISSIONED JOE BARSIN TO ILLUSTRATE THIS PRINT FOR THEIR 50TH REUNION HOMECOMING CELEBRATION IN ANNAPOLIS, MD.
JIM GAVIN, USNA '66, AND JOE BARSIN, ILLUSTRATOR, TOURING USNA
It was a great honor for Joe Barsin to be asked to create an original illustration for the USNA Class of 1966's 50th Reunion. His work was unveiled to the Homecoming Celebration in Annapolis on October 22, 2016. Joe Barsin worked closely with Jim Gavin (pictured together) on developing the sketches for Executive Committee approval. The highlight of this experience involved touring the Academy and discussing the changes that have been made since 1966. We wanted to make sure the illustration reflected a midshipmen's experience during their time on the U.S. Naval Academy campus, which included Bancroft Hall, The Naval Chapel, Tecumseh statue, Navy Bill the Goat statue (which has been moved since 1966) and the right of passage for all midshipmen, placing the cover onto of the Herdon Monument.

Joe, The USNA Class of '66 truly appreciates your effort and great design for our 50th Reunion illustration. You captured our memories of the Naval Academy.

All the Best, Jim Gavin
Class of ’66 Executive Committee Officer

The Annapolis Podcast: New Logo Design

It was an honor to work with Scott MacMullan on the new idnetity for the popular The Annapolis Podcast. Below is what he said about the project and our interview.

This week's guest is the phenomenally talented, Annapolis-inspired graphic designer Joe Barsin. Joe has previously been on the podcast to discuss his many Annapolis-inspired graphic designs, his services and his products. This week Joe delves into how we brainstormed, and he created, the brand-spanking-new logo for The Annapolis Podcast. We also talk about his thoughts on Olympic logos and the First Sunday Arts Festival (which he did another stunning logo for.) Somehow Joe did the impossible and summarized the idea and the spirit of this podcast into one simple image. Hope you enjoy the new logo. Thanks, Joe Barsin! You and your wife have been great for Annapolis! — Scott MacMullan, host of APC

We are thrilled for them that from the 10 docs shown in their class, theirs won 1st PLACE! Congratulations to A1C Michael Jones (Air Force), MC3 Cody Howell (NAVY), and Samuel Jacob Hartley (ARMY). We enjoyed the entire process and feel honored to have been featured.
