Bullseye! "Robin Hood" illustration hits the mark for Children's Theatre

Joe Barsin receives a glowing review for his latest illustration. Childsplay Theatre for Everyone, located in Tempe, Arizona contacted Joe with the need for art to brand their upcoming production of "Robin Hood." The illustration had to be created quickly and within budget. Joe first went to work sketching his concept on paper. After receiving feedback and approval, he completed the final art using Adobe Illustrator. It was a fun and successful process for all involved. Read review below...

Sketch presented to ChildsPlay for approval."I was working on a very tight deadline for my theatre company's season brochure and was in need of an illustrator that could understand my needs quickly and efficiently. I was very lucky to have found Joe through Thumbtack! I put out the request/proposal and received a response in less than 24 hours. I gave Joe a brief synopsis of what I was looking for (one of which was an illustration that could portray ACTION!) and was happy to get a sketch very quickly from Joe. He was incredibly descriptive in telling me about how he imagined the final piece so I could have a full understanding while looking at the sketch. I was lucky that Joe was right-on on his first try and I made no changes to his sketch.

The illustration turned out absolutely beautiful and promotes the play as exciting, inviting and fun! AND Joe was 1 week ahead of his deadline!!.. making my job even easier. I would recommend Joe to anybody or any company looking for an efficient, professional and incredibly talented illustrator. Plus, he was a pleasure to work with!"

"La Traviata" OPERA PRINTS AND GIFTS FOR SALE

"La Traviata" Opera poster illustration by Joe Barsin

Joe Barsin illustrates original artwork to be used exclusively for one-of-a-kind opera merchandise. His blend of traditional and contemporary illustration brings you uniquely colorful design that you won't find anywhere else.

In this illustration, Joe Barsin visualizes this tragic but beautiful opera. Violetta Valéry, a famed Parisian courtesan, is slowly dying from tuberculosis but finds strength through her love with Alfredo. At first she plays hard to get with Alfredo but gives him a flower and tells him to return to her when it has wilted. As with all great opera tragedies, Violetta and Alfredo fall madly in love but another man, Baron Douphol, comes between them. Alas, the horrible misunderstanding is resolved just in time for the pale Violetta to die in Alfredo's arms.

Opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi.

New Release: "USNA Sunset Sails" and "USNA High Noon Sails" illustrations by Joe Barsin

USNA High Noon Sails, horizontalUSNA High Noon Sails and USNA Sunset Sails are tributes to the award-winning U.S. Naval Academy sailing program and the nautical traditions of Annapolis, Maryland. Located on the Chesapeake Bay, near the Bay Bridge, USNA has the largest collegiate offshore sailing fleet in the United States and has a proud history of turning out collegiate All-Americans, College Sailors of the Year, Olympians, and America's Cup sailors.

Both illustrations are a study in warm and cool tones. Some of you may remember our Facebook contest to pick the Warm vs. Cool color illustration (see here). We were surprised by the balance between the two versions, so Joe developed both!

Joe Barsin's illustrations showcases the Navy 44s MK II sloops that are part of the USNA Offshore Sail Training Squadron (OSTS) fleet. Additional Annapolis landmarks that are part of the historical skyline are St Mary's, St Anne's, Maryland Capital, St John's College, Buddy's Crabs, Middleton Tavern, USNA Chapel, Mahan Hall and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Also, it wouldn't be a Navy Academy illustration without the Blue Angels flying overhead as they're a big part of the Academy's tradition.
